Across neighborhoods and generations, women have led with courage, compassion, and conviction. The women who inspired the TetterGirls Foundation embodied that leadership — and their legacy informs how we serve today.
The Community Hub highlights how TetterGirls builds partnerships, honors neighborhood leadership, and invests in community-driven impact across Phoenix.

Neighborhood Hero: Miss Loretta
Care & Commonsense
Always watching over the block from her window, she kept kids in line with a raised eyebrow and one well-timed “Baby, don’t do that.”
Her presence reminded us that love sometimes sounds like instruction — and protection.
Contribution to Community: Guidance & Safety

Neighborhood Hero: Mr. Charles
Respect & Responsibility
He pulled boys aside like they were his own sons — teaching them to stand tall, speak truth, and carry themselves with dignity.
His lessons became the backbone of many young men who didn’t realize they were listening until much later.
Contribution to Community: Mentorship & Accountability

Neighborhood Hero: Mama Jean
Caregiving & Compassion
She saw tired mothers before they said a word. A spilled-flour “accident,” a “helper needed” moment — she created breaks so mamas could breathe.
Her kindness stitched entire households together, one small mercy at a time.
Contribution to Community: Relief & Nurturing
